What is Happiness?

Happiness can be a subjective or an objective term. But one truth remains true. When we are happy, we all feel the same way.

Happiness is not a place. Happiness is what you do. This means that our happiness mostly comes from our own thoughts and our actions. What we think, how we think and the actions we take affects our happiness to a great extent.

Happiness plays a very important role in our lives and it can have a huge impact on the way we live, the decisions we make and how we feel.

It is very important to differentiate between two types of actions that produce feelings of happiness. Actions that lead to long term happiness and actions that produce short term happiness. The former will keep you happy looking back while the latter will not. Short term forms happiness actions may also keep you asking for more, which ultimately leads to addiction or regrets.

People feel happy when they receive from others. People feel happier when they give to others. But the greatest form of Happiness comes in the form of "contentment". The state of being satisfied with "who you are", "what you have" and "what you do".
